"When I were jus' a boy, Momma would sent me down to dat corner store wi' a dollar in mah paws, and I'd come back wi' five pounds o' potatoes, two loaves o' bread, three pints o' milk, a pound o' cheese, two tins of dem rollmop herrings, a half pound o'fresh chicken ribs in bacon grease, a packet o' tea, an' a full half a dozen o'them brown skinned hens eggs. "

"Ya' can't do that now........................ Too many security cameras."

We were taught that song in my junior school in NW London.....Old zip coon- he played all day-until he drove his friends away- he played all night by the light of the moon- he couldnīt play anything but old zip coon!.
I wonder if it is still taught there.
